Alter Socks
Georgian designers and entrepreneurs Nina Menteshashvili & Rezi Beselashvili founded Alter Socks, the first Georgian novelty sock manufacturer, on March 29, 2016 in their hometown of Tbilisi. Their mission is to bring more fun into people’s lives by offering them high-quality, colorful, and funny socks instead of everyday boring pairs.
In a short period of time, Alter Socks gained a high level of brand awareness and popularity in the Georgian market. Alter Socks has retail stores in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi and also places socks in vending machines in the Tbilisi International Airport. In addition to operating eight shops, Alter Socks exports to more than ten countries.
In March, 2022 as a response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Alter Socks designed and manufactured the World’s first socks to support Ukrainians. They made and sold 3,000 pairs with proceeds supporting Ukraine and partnered with Ukrainian Shoot Agency for the joint Ukrainian / Georgian Standing for Ukraine sock project.
